SEAL™ Files instantly protect and redundantly archive your ideas and inventions for as little as $2 each! Do ideas and inventions have copyrights?
NO... Copyright protects original works of authorship, while a patent protects inventions or discoveries. Ideas and discoveries are not protected by the copyright law, although the way in which they are expressed may be.

A trademark protects words, phrases, symbols, or designs identifying the source of the goods or services of one party and distinguishing them from those of others.

When should I protect or register my invention?
Because your new ideas and inventions do not have copyrights, they must be protected with the use of patents and trademarks. However, the sooner you can credibly date-stamp and archive your ideas and inventions, the better. Especially since you will need to disclose your invention to more and more people as you move towards a patent or trademark applications.

Before you tell anyone, you need to protect your invention! You should always make an effort to evidence the evolution of your invention from start to finish. It is recommended that you credibly document every significant milestone as your invention evolves.
The benefits and risks of spending the time and resources to register your invention with any domestic or foreign Patent or Trademark office are complex and numerous, but for certain, three critical considerations are:
1. To protect your idea or invention and acquire exclusive rights to its use - By acquiring a patent or trademark, you will ensure that you will have exclusive rights to the use of your invention, or if you wish, you can grant licenses for the use of your invention.

2. To ensure that your invention has not already been patented - Before spending a large amount of time and money persuing your invention, and a potential patent, it is highly recommended that you do a thorough patent search. Spend the money and have a patent lawyer do it for you. Every country in the world has a their own patent office and a different set of patent laws to deal with.

3. To demonstrate "Prior Art" - "First to file" is not always the first to invent. By registering the facts of your invention with a credible 3rd party you will be able to provide tangible evidence to demonstrate "prior art" and render the existing patent unusable to the first to file.
Why should I register my ideas and inventions with WorldWideOCR?
Applying a SEAL™ to your ideas and inventions will provide you with essential time-line evidence in the case that somebody decides to use your invention with out permission, or if somebody accuses you of using their invention.

Again, SEAL™ files are also an excellent means to provide evidence of prior art where you may find the you are not first to file.

Why should I register my invention if I intend to patent or trademark it?
Perhaps the best reason to register your invention is to have the facts of your invention on record and receive a certificate of registration and date-stamp as soon as possible. Date-stamping and redundantly archiving your intellectual property rights with a SEAL™ file will protect your invention as you start to disclose your invention and move towards patent searches and registration.

How can I afford to protect all of my ideas and inventions?
At WorldWideOCR, we recognize that most people who invent, create constantly. Our online copyright and intellectual property protection and archiving service was designed to help those people affordably protect and redundantly archive their entire body of work.
